Black and white mounted photo of W. W. Thomas in 1900.He is wearing a high-collor, four-in-hand tie. A later picture of him is in the Springfield High School yearbook, The Resume, at least in the years 1920-1923, as Superintendent of Springfield Public Schools.

Black and white photo of the Main Library in the Springfield-Greene County Library system, on the northwest corner of Central St. and Jefferson Ave. The building , Springfield's first public library, was funded by Andrew Carnegie. It is now the Mid-Town Carnegie Branch.

Black & white photo of a reproduction from Harper's Weekly of two views of Springfield, one the public square showing the new (1860) courthouse and the old red brick courthouse in the middle of the square that burned during the Civil War. The other is a general view of Springfield looking east with the courthouse in the upper right of the sketch.

A color poster advertising the Springfield Wagon Company. The poster appears to be a lithograph with a watercolor background. The Springfield wagon and it's inhabitants continue to race by as the Arkansas wagon has lost it's wheels and inhabitants after driving over a fallen tree. The poster reads: "Always Use The Old Reliable Springfield Wagon. The Only Wagon with Second Growth Spokes and Steel Tire." Too large to scan, see copy of poster displayed in the permanent exhibit.

Black and white photo of 5 men with an airplane which advertises the Nafziger baking Co. In the cockpit is E.E E. McJimsey, a Springfield candidate for Governor campaigning by airplane . On the plane, ( front) is painted Essex Motor Co., Springfield, Mo. and (back) Snavely Aero Corporation, Springfield, Mo. In an unidentified flying field, Lt. Ralph Snavely, pilot, is at right.

Black and white photo of Men, two in uniform, and byplane at McClure Field. On the tail of the airplane is written " McClure Flying Field, Springfield, Mo. It's time to Fly". This was also the first Springfield Airport.

Round, brown metal token with scalloped edges from Springfield Electric Street(or streetcar)Railway for one full fare. Springfield first had mule or horsedrawn streetcars in 1880-1881 and the streetcars were electrified in 1885-1887.

Newspaper clipping depicting a sketch of the plaza (currently the public square) at Springfield, Mo., and the town of Springfield. The clipping was sketched by Mr. Alexander Simplot and was published in the Harper's Weekly on November 30, 1861.

Exterior black and white photo of a print of the Springfield Wagon Factory. Notice the house on the right side of the print; Also there is a railroad running in the foreground. At this time this factory was located at the southwest corner of Sherman Avenue and Phelps Street.

Black and white interior photograph of the Springfield Traction Co. stable. It was located on Boonville Avenue between the newspaper building and the Public Square. There are six stalls and some harness hanging at the front of two of the stalls. There are bales of hay stored above the stalls. In the background is a wagon with the name " Springfield Traction Company" painted on the side.
