Description/History:Black & white photo of a reproduction from Harper's Weekly of two views of Springfield, one the public square showing the new (1860) courthouse and the old red brick courthouse in the middle of the square that burned during the Civil War. The other is a general view of Springfield looking east with the courthouse in the upper right of the sketch.
