Black and white photograph of a stone quarry, which is possibly the Phenix Stone Quarry located at Phenix, Missouri. There is hoisting equipment being used to load the quarried stone on to a railroad flat car. There are four men working in the quarry. One man is using a lever to raise and lower the stone as it is being loaded. A horse is being used to turn a gear that winds a cable. In the background is a steam boiler. Also in the background are the remains of two wagons.
