Rose drove horse drawn milk delivery wagons for Pilley's Creamery. David S. Rose, father of the donor, was born and raised in Brookline, Mo. He drove buggies and trucks much of his working life.

Black and white photo of Campbell Ave.looking north from Walnut. Identified businesses include Kieffer & Hawkins Furniture (310-12), Charles Mack Dry Goods (318-20), Schwab Bros. Clothing (217-19) South Campbell. A large crowd is gathered on the street. The donor worked as a clerk in the store at the time of the photo. He later had a store of his own in Brookline, MO and then one at 409 S. New in Springfield.
