Description/History:Square grand piano made of rosewood, Empire style, bought ca 1852-1855 by John Baptist Beiderlinden, a native of Prussia who came to Springfield ca 1841-1843. John was a music teacher, Justice of the Peace (office 102 Public Square) an Assistant Assessor and Deputy Collector for the Internal Revenue. He and his wife Nancy Smiley had 11 children and are listed in the 1878 City Directory as living at 316 S. Ave. See accession file for more information.
