Description/History:Boy's black and white tweed wool sailor shirt and matching knickers. The shirt has a blue-green sailor color trimmed with black piping edged in white. There is a botton-in inset in the front that is also blue-green and with the same trim. The cuffs match the collar and inset and close with one button. The shirt has one pocket on the front left breast which is lined in blue-green. There is a Navy insignia on the left sleeve. The background is black, the eagle and anchors are blue and the stripes are yellow. The knickers have a flap opening front. There should be a botton at both corners of the flap, but one is missing. There are two button holes in the front and two in the back for suspenders. The knickers have two side pockets. These were worn by Dr. C. F. McCormick ca 1900. He later became an educator in Springfield and was principal of Jarrett Junior High for several years.
