Description/History:Boy's green wool sailor suit and knickers. The sailor color is decorated with three horizontal pipings in the back and three vertical pipings that run vertically on each side of the collar. There is a button in inset in the front that also has three horizontal pipings. There is a black cotton tie sewn into the collar that is secured in front with a loop. The sleeve are long and have suffs. Each cuff has three horizontal pipings, a back button and button hole. There is a naval insignia in dark brown, yellow and light brown on the left sleeve. The knickers have a flap in front is held close with two black buttons. There are two button holes in the front and back of the knickers, probably for suspenders. A tag in the back of the knickers has hand-lettered, "McCormick". These were worn by Dr. C. F. McCormick as a boy ca 1900. He became a Springfield educator and principal of Jarrett Junior High for many years.
