The sailor color is decorated with three horizontal pipings in the back and three vertical pipings that run vertically on each side of the collar. There is a button in inset in the front that also has three horizontal pipings. There is a black cotton tie sewn into the collar that is secured in front with a loop. The sleeve are long and have suffs. Each cuff has three horizontal pipings, a back button and button hole. There is a naval insignia in dark brown, yellow and light brown on the left sleeve. The knickers have a flap in front is held close with two black buttons. There are two button holes in the front and back of the knickers, probably for suspenders. A tag in the back of the knickers has hand-lettered, "McCormick". These were worn by Dr. C. F. McCormick as a boy ca 1900.
